Intensiver Tagesworkshop rund um die lebendige Welt des Pagode – ein populärer Samba-Stil mit starken Wurzeln in Rio de Janeiro und São Paulo, beliebt bei Samba-Musiker:innen in ganz Brasilien und darüber hinaus.
Der Workshop konzentriert sich ausschließlich auf die typischen Percussion-Instrumente des Pagode: Rebolo, Tan Tan, Repique de Mão, Tamborim, Reco Reco / Ganzá und Pandeiro.
Inhalte:
- grundlegende Rhythmen und Spieltechniken des Pagode an einem oder mehreren Instrumenten lernen
- rhythmische Unabhängigkeit entwickeln und Improvisationsfähigkeit stärken
- klares, sicheres Spielen und Entwickeln von Ausdauer über längere Spieleinheiten
- Einblicke in den musikalischen Aufbau und kulturellen Kontext dieses Samba-Stils erhalten
Obwohl der Kurs ausschließlich auf Percussion fokussiert ist, sind die erlernten Fähigkeiten ideal, um später in Pagode-Runden (Rodas) mit Begleitung von Cavaquinho und Gesang mitzuspielen - oder auch das eigene Repertoire zu ergänzen, wenn man selbst gerne singt und spielt.
Ein Muss für alle Sambistas, die ihr rhythmisches Vokabular erweitern und eine neue Facette des brasilianischen Samba entdecken möchten.
Geeignet für Leute mit (Brasil-) Perkussion Vorkenntnissen / Mittelstufe.

An intensive one-day workshop dedicated to the vibrant world of Pagode – a popular samba style with strong roots in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, widely appreciated by samba musicians throughout Brazil and beyond.
The workshop focuses exclusively on the key percussion instruments played during a Pagode: rebolo, tan tan, repique de mão, tamborim, reco reco / ganzá, and pandeiro.
Workshop content includes:
- Learning important rhythms and playing techniques on one or more Pagode instruments
- Developing rhythmic independence and strengthening improvisation skills
- Clear, confident playing and developing stamina over longer playing sessions
- Gaining insight into the musical structure and cultural background of this samba style
Although this course is focused exclusively on percussion, the skills learned will prepare you to join a Pagode roda (session) alongside harmony instruments like cavaquinho and vocals - or to enrich your own repertoire if you enjoy singing and playing yourself.
A must for all sambistas looking to expand their rhythmic vocabulary and discover a new facet of Brazilian samba.
Level: Suitable for participants with prior experience in (Brazilian) percussion / intermediate level.
