Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp – Ventre Unique
Founded in Geneva in 2006 by Vincent Bertholet, Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp (OTPMD) is a constantly evolving musical collective inspired by 20th-century African orchestras and the spirit of French artist Marcel Duchamp. Their sixth album Ventre Unique, released on Bongo Joe Records, follows 2021’s acclaimed We’re Ok But We’re Lost Anyway, blending folk, krautrock, post-punk, and African rhythms into something deeply organic and ritualistic.
Recorded over ten days in a studio near Paris with twelve musicians, the album features heavy grooves, shimmering marimba, bold horns, and rich vocal layers. Every member contributes vocals, creating a powerful choral texture. Guest appearances include Mara Krastina (Massicot) and François Marry (Frànçois and the Atlas Mountains).
Thematically, the album reflects on existential anxiety and a longing for unity. The title Ventre Unique (“single womb”) points to the idea of collective fusion and shared dreams. The band remains rooted in Geneva’s punk and squat culture, with a spirit of radical collectivism. Their compositional simplicity and ever-changing lineup help maintain a consistent yet dynamic sound.
After releasing their previous album, the group performed around 150 shows worldwide—from Canada to the Balkans. Ventre Unique is music meant to bring people together—not to escape their troubles, but to confront them through rhythm, voice, and collective movement.

Kulku - Reset To Be
Formed in Berlin around the turn of the millennium, Kulku have grown into a singular, free-form collective known for their trance-like, percussive, and soulful (mostly acoustic) sound. Drawing influence from the rhythmic force of Jaki Liebezeit’s Can, the street-folk of Moondog, the minimalism of Steve Reich, and the droning spirit of the Velvet Underground, they coined their own term for it: No-Age Krautrock.
Following their sold-out 2023 debut Fahren, the new album Reset To Be delivers five new tracks that distill the essence of their 20-year evolution. Built on droning harmoniums, phasing xylophones, timpani, cello, scrap metal, reeds, and emotive saxophone, the music is grounded by Andreas Riska’s voice, singing in both German and English.
Reset To Be will be released in early 2024 on vinyl and digital via Phase Group, with distribution through Rubadub — a powerful document of Kulku’s deep, exploratory sound.
