The Slow Show frontman gets personal.
GOODWIN is the solo project of Rob Goodwin. Frontman and baritone vocalist of Manchester’s cinematic, indie-pop band, The Slow Show. In late 2023 during a respite in touring with his band, GOODWIN started to work on something for himself. A collection of intimate solo recordings that put GOODWIN‘S emotive delivery and poetic storytelling in the spotlight.
Inspired by the moody, atmospheric works of artists such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake, these deeply personal songs have vulnerability at their core. Romantic, dreamlike stories for
people to curl up and escape in. Written at his new home in Germany and recorded in Neukölln, Berlin during an intensely
creative time with Berlin based pianist and producer, Lambert.
‘Working with Lambert, an artist I've admired for years, had a huge impact on my work. He approaches music with an infectious curiosity. The playfulness in the process encouraged me to write freely and follow my curiosity. Travelling a new path, I was often truly lost but always discovering something new. It’s some of my most personal work and I’m both thrilled and
