Ex-Easter Island Head ist ein experimentelles Musikerkollektiv aus England, das Kompositionen und Performances für Solid-Body-E Gitarre, Percussion und andere Instrumente entwickelt. Die Gruppe spielt mehrere elektrische Gitarren, die durch mechanische Präparationen und erweiterte Spieltechniken modifiziert werden. So entstehen hypnotische Klanglandschaften voller Wiederholungen, schimmernder Drones und melodischer Einfälle – geschaffen mit bewusst begrenzten Mitteln.
Das jüngste Album Norther (2024) wurde vom führenden europäischen Kulturmagazin The Quietus zum „Album des Jahres“ gekürt. Ein Interview mit The Guardian im selben Jahr bezeichnete ihre Musik als „eines der kühnsten Experimente in der britischen Musik“.
Anfang 2025 spielte die Band vier Stücke live für eine BBC Radio 6-Session bei Riley & Coe ein.

Ex-Easter Island Head are a UK-based experimental musical collective composing and performing music for solid body electric guitar, percussion and other instruments. The group plays multiple electric guitars augmented through mechanical preparations and extended techniques, creating hypnotic performances rich in repetition, shimmering drones and melodic invention through purposefully limited means.
The group’s most recent album Norther (2024) was named “album of the year” by Europe’s leading independent culture website, The Quietus. An interview in the same year for The Guardian described their music as “amongst the boldest experiments in British music”.
In early 2025 they were invited to perform four tracks in a session on BBC Radio 6 for Riley and Coe.
