Berimbouse Band is the new acoustic project of Brazilian artist Felipe Vieira. After exploring a more electronic and pop-oriented vision with Berimbouse, he now turns to an organic sound where samba, bossa nova, chorinho, and the harmonies of Minas Gerais meet improvisation and interplay. The trio’s repertoire includes works by Nelson Cavaquinho, Milton Nascimento, Hermeto Pascoal, alongside original compositions—radiant, soulful, and full of energy.

The quartet performs the music of bandleader Yuma Shigesada, centered on defining the role of the cello within a classic quartet setting. The project seeks to give the instrument a prominent voice, allowing it to find its place sonically in the world of improvised music—or what is sometimes called "jazz." Dismantling its classical associations and turning toward the contemporary, the musicians engage the material with attentive interaction and intensity.
