La Peña's 50th Anniversary: Free Roots Arts Classes Week

Join us in celebrating with a week of FREE roots arts classes!

From June 8th to June 14th, experience the rich cultural traditions that have made La Peña a vital part of our community. This special week features classes taught by local culture bearers who have shaped La Peña’s legacy and impact over the last years. These classes are held to honor and promote the traditions of Bomba y Plena, Afro-Cuban Rumba, Son Jarocho, Afro-Peruvian dance, Capoeira, and more!

1. Choose Your Class: Check out the schedule and take note of the class(es) you'd like to attend.
2. Register: Select the date and time, then complete the registration process on Eventbrite.
3. Register for Multiple Classes: If you'd like to attend multiple classes, repeat the registration process for each one.

• Public Transit: The 18 bus line stops directly across the street (Shattuck & Woolsey), and Ashby BART is just two blocks away.
• Parking: Free street parking is available, or park at the Ashby BART station for a fee.
