Exploring Indian Rhythm: Vocal Percussion & Hand Drumming with Rohan Krishnamurthy

Learn the foundations of Indian rhythm and vocal percussion (konnakol), essential hand drumming techniques on traditional instruments (mridangam, ghatam, and khanjira), ways to improve rhythmic time and feel, and approaches to improvisation and composition. Directed by acclaimed Indian percussionist, composer, and educator Dr. Rohan Krishnamurthy, this class is open to participants of all ages and backgrounds – no previous experience needed! If you have your own drum, please bring it, but some drums will be available for people who don't have them.
