Tonight the international sacred dancer Prema Dasara will introduce the Mandala Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara, which she created in 1986 and has been practiced by women worldwide. This combination of meditation and movement will generate energy for holistic healing and inspire the joy of awakened mind. Prema will also explain how she came to create the dance, the Tibetan practices that inform it, and various reasons and motives for using it in one’s daily life. Based in Tibetan Buddhist mind-training practices, this empowering event will offer budding sacred dancers a rare and precious opportunity.
This event is in-person only. Tickets are sliding scale $10 - $40 with no one turned away for lack of funds.
In 1986, international sacred dancer and teacher Prema Dasara created the Mandala Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara. These and other dances she has created are based on Tibetan texts and have been offered and blessed by many Tibetan teachers, including the Dalai Lama, the Karmapa, Tai Situ Rinpoche, Lama Kunga, Lama Zopa, and others.Prema has been practicing Buddhism under the guidance of Tibetan masters for many years, and has studied with sacred dance masters in India, Nepal, Tibet, and Bali.
