Interested in a garden but don't have the space? Get a plot at the Lanark Community Garden! Check out the garden during our Learning in Lawn Chairs series starting May 15.
Bring your lawn chairs and learn about the garden, pick up tips for the gardening season, and socialize with fellow enthusiasts. Master Gardeners will be available to answer gardening questions. We will gather rain or shine, with tents and water provided.
May 15, 2:00-3:30 pm: Pros & Cons of Mulch- Discover how mulching can conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and improve soil health. Learn about the downfalls of different mulch types and gain valuable insights to make informed decisions for your garden!
June 26, 2:00-3:30 pm: Gardening Tips & Tricks- Elevate your gardening game. From soil preparation and plant selection to watering, harvest, and more, you'll gain practical advice to help your garden thrive.
July 17, 2:00-3:30 pm: Planting for a Successful Fall Garden- Make the most of your fall garden for a bountiful autumn yield. Discover which vegetables thrive in cooler weather, when to plant, and how to extend your harvest season.
August 21, 3:30-5:00 pm: Taming the August Garden- Whether you're dealing with unruly vines or battling summer weeds, this session will provide valuable tips to help you maintain order and beauty in your garden as we approach the fall season. *Please note time change for August session.
