10am-10:30am: Farm tour, Land Access conversation - Beatrice, Multiple Harvest
10:30am-1:30pm:
Irrigation install - Tucker, AUA
Pest management and native plants - Lucía León
Soil moisture monitor installation - Vale, AUA

About the Lucía León

Lucia is a Chicago-raised urban farmer and land steward in her 11th season of growing. She’s passionate about connecting people to the healing power of soil and plants. She does garden education, cut-flower production and landscape design and installation through her business, Lightly Farmed. She's also the Food Production Manager at El Paseo Community Garden

Beatrice Kamau, founder of Multiple Harvest, a 6-acre farm in Beecher, IL, dedicated since 2017 to growing nutrient-rich produce. We grow various crops including fruit trees,herbs, vegetables, and specialty crops. We are committed to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic sustainability.
