Free Class: Fire-resistant Plant Characteristics

This presentation is part 1 of 3-part series that describes and provides examples of plant characteristics and species that are fire resistant, how they impact wildfire, and the concepts of ladder fuels and spatial continuity.

About the speaker:
Wildfire mitigation specialist with the Austin Fire Department. Studied forestry at Cal Poly Humboldt with an emphasis on wild land fuels management. Worked with the U.S. Forest Service as a wild land firefighter and wildlife technician. He has experience in utility vegetation management working as a contractor in Northern California and for Austin Energy.
