Featuring a lived experience sharing by Dahlia Mohd, participants will engage in a creative “rewrite the narrative” exercise—styling and directing alternative representations using clothing, photography, and storytelling. The session ends with personal reflections and a call to action to build more conscious, inclusive media landscapes.
This LC Experience is part of Lepak Conversations' 5th anniversary fundraiser, 'Bersatu Kita Teguh', where we invite you to join an intimate session with subject experts to explore the evolution of Malay culture and identity. Seats are very limited!
Since our humble beginnings as a passion project by two 22-year-olds in 2020, Lepak Conversations has grown into a fully fledged non-profit — powered by a dedicated team of 11 volunteers, supported by over 30 collaborators, and engaged with more than 500 attendees across our events. Online, our reach has surpassed 600,000 – a testament to the deep hunger for open, sensitive and inclusive dialogue within and beyond the Malay/Muslim community.
In 5 years, we’ve tackled more than 15 critical and often complex social issues that shape the lived experiences of Malay/Muslims in Singapore – from racism and mental health to gender equity and interfaith dialogue.
At the heart of everything we do is a belief in the power of lepak — to sit, listen, reflect and connect. Inspired by the Malay proverb “Bersatu Kita Teguh, Bercerai Kita Runtuh”, we are committed to unity through difference: bringing together diverse voices, bridging communities, and building understanding across lines of race, religion, class and experience.
Every dollar from ticket sales directly fuels our ability to:
With your help, we can continue to offer safe, thoughtful spaces for conversation and cultural exchange — sustaining a vital space where curiosity is welcomed, complexity is embraced, and everyone feels included.
