Bird Walk

Enjoy an early morning birding walk with Natural Resource Manager Jesse Bolli starting at Homestead National Historical Park's Education Center.

2025 Bird Walks will convene at 8 am on the following dates:
-Friday, May 2,
-Saturday, May 3,
-Friday, June 6, and
-Saturday June 7*

While a limited number of binoculars will be available for public use, you are encouraged to bring your own.

Past Bird Walks through the prairie and bur oak forest have observed grassland species such as the dickcissel, common yellow throat and grasshopper sparrow, raptors like the barred owl and red-tailed hawk, and forest species such as the eastern towhee, Baltimore oriole, downy woodpecker and warbling vireo.

Come ready to enjoy, observe, and respect nature!

*Please note that the event on June 7 will be part of a larger National Trails Day Critter Count. It will be followed by a Plant Walk at 10 am and an Insect Walk at 12:30 pm.
