Jennette's Pier: Hook, Line & Tentacles

Get ready for a hands-on marine science experience! Currituck County 4-H is hosting an exciting program for youth ages 8-14 at Jennette’s Pier, where participants will enjoy pier fishing and then dive into a fascinating squid dissection.

Kids will learn fishing techniques while casting their lines off the pier, then head into the lab to explore squid anatomy up close. This unique combination of outdoor adventure and scientific discovery is perfect for young marine enthusiasts!

Participants will need to bring a bag lunch and meet at the NC Cooperative Extension Center at 10:30 am. We will return from our trip at 4:00pm.

All participants must also be enrolled in 4-H Online for the 2025 program year; the link to that portion of the registration process is https://v2.4honline.com/.

Space is limited and there is a registration fee of $20.00. Payment can be made with a credit card via Eventbrite, or cash/check payable to NCSU. Checks and cash can be delivered to the Currituck Extension Office at 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917 within 5 days of registration.
