Regency Dance Display, workshop and Picnic at Broughton Castle

Join Georgettes of Oxford for a Georgian picnic and dance display at Broughton Castle in North Oxfordshire, ancestral home to the Fiennes family, as well as a location used to film The Madness of King George, Wolf Hall and Jane Eyre (2011).
The Fiennes family have kindly given permission for us to dance on their lawn, weather permitting, or inside the Great Hall if it is inclement. As this is the 250th anniversary year of the birth of Jane Austen, we shall be performing costumed dances from her lifetime, along with selected scenes from her novels performed by professional actors Erika Sanderson and Helen Rose-Davidge. The audience can then have a go at being their favourite Austen Heroine/Hero by joining in with some simple 18th century and Regency Country Dances.
After the display Georgettes shall then retire to a shady spot with a view of the castle to picnic, and have the opportunity to have a look around the house.

Time: Dance display: 2:30-3:00, Dance workshop for the public to join in with 3:00-3:30, Picnic 3:30-5pm
Price: £13 (House and Gardens)/Free for dancers
