Volunteer @ Local Charm Community Expo

Volunteer at the Local Charm Community Expo, a free hands-on activity fair where people can experience lots of hobby groups in one place!

​Why? Because Baltimore is full of hidden hobby groups, and many people don’t know about them! The Local Charm Community Expo is a fun and interactive way to discover these groups and meet others who share your interests.

You can volunteer in a short block (like an hour) or stay for the whole thing. Every bit helps!

We'll be there about an hour before and an hour after the event to set up / break down:

• 📅 Date & Time: Saturday, May 3, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT
• 📍 Location: Arbutus Town Hall / Arbutus Community Association
• 🗺 Address: 1349 Stevens Ave, Baltimore, MD 21227, USA
• 🍕 Food and drinks available for purchase
• 🚗 Parking available (see map) Parking is available at the venue as well as Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department across the street.

We’re looking for folks to lend a hand with:

✅ Arrival and setup: 11 AM to 12 PM

• Booth and table setup
• ​✨ Helping groups set up their displays and activities

✅ Event hours: 12 PM to 4 PM

• ​✨ Guide/Welcome Attendees: Help people feel at ease by greeting them and pointing them in the right direction (e.g., “The theater groups are over here!”)
• ​✨ Managing the event’s flow and keeping things running smoothly
• ​✨ Assisting with online promotion and spreading the word
• ​✨Point out bathrooms, help with accessibility, and guide attendees to key areas like water stations or seating.
• ​✨ Support Groups: Assist group leaders by providing supplies, getting them settled, and ensuring they’re ready for their activities.
• ​✨ Photograph the Event: Capture key moments—group activities, attendee reactions, and event highlights—to share online.
• ​✨ Videograph the Event: Film important parts of the event, such as group demonstrations, participant excitement, and memorable moments.

✅ Breakdown and cleanup: 4 PM to 5 PM

No need to do everything. Just sign up for what fits your vibe or time. Volunteers will get clear info, and we’ll be nearby if you have questions.

• ​✨ Introduce newcomers to your sessions, workshops, or group meetups
• ​✨ Connect with other groups to spark collaborations and build a stronger local network
• ​✨ Engage folks by offering mini-sessions, ongoing activities, or regularly that encourage attendees to get involved. Such as playing related board games, showing off props, etc
