✨ Rhythms & Writing ✨
Join us on Wednesday, September 4 from 5–7:30pm at The Harris-Marcus Center for an evening of storytelling, history, and live jazz! 📚🎶
We’re thrilled to welcome Rosa Pryor-Trusty, beloved entertainment columnist at the Baltimore Times and author of the new book “Baltimore and Maryland Black History Stories: Who, What, When, and Where? 1950s–1980s.” 🌟 This is her third book documenting Baltimore’s Black entertainment history—a body of work that has even been included as required reading in colleges. Her first release, African-American Entertainment in Baltimore (2003), was a record-breaking bestseller! Don’t miss this chance to meet Rosa, hear her stories, and get your book signed. ✍🏾✨
🎷 The night keeps flowing with live music from the Baltimore Pop-up Jazz Jam, now in their 6th year of bringing free jazz to Baltimore’s parks and neighborhoods. In partnership with the Baltimore Jazz Alliance, this jam celebrates the joy of music, collaboration, and community.
🥖 And what’s an evening out without some good eats? The Avenue Bakery—a neighborhood favorite right on Pennsylvania Avenue, known for giving back and serving the community—will be bringing their famous Poppay’s Rolls and tasty snacks.
