Free School Classroom!
Join Highwire Improv at the Red Emma's Free School space for a welcoming, affirming, and fun improv jam for all levels!
This will be a low-stress jam experience for improvisers of all levels! We'll do introductions, a boundaries check-in, some fun improv warmups to get the mind and body ready, and then we'll do a range of improv exercises and games, and some long-form sets! The jam will run from 2pm-4pm. Folks who wish to just observe are also welcome!
All participants are required to follow the Highwire Improv Code of Conduct and arrive on-time to make sure that we can align on how we'll hold space for one another.
The jam is free, but registration is requested so that we know how many people are planning to attend and can ensure we stay within the room capacity.
As detailed previously, in-person events at Highwire Improv are only recommended for those individuals who have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
About your facilitator: Jess Robey (she/her) discovered her passion for improv comedy six years ago during an intro to improv workshop, and she hasn’t looked back since. Based in Baltimore, Jess has performed at various theaters and spaces in cities across the East Coast.
Currently, Jess is a member of several Baltimore improv teams, including Babeprov, Croc Talk, Important Screws, Teen Angst, and the show she produces, Girl Talk.
Outside of improv, Jess finds joy in dancing, candle making, and writing. She sees improv as a liberating experience, allowing her to let go, have fun, and feel supported.
