Join us for a workshop exploring your relationship with the waterways of the Patapsco and Harbor after viewing “One Chiliad” an exhibition of photographs and sculpture by Jann Rosen-Queralt alongside “Toxic Overburden,” a youth-driven exhibition of environmental injustice from Free Your Voice realized by the Neighborhood Design Center.
Rosen-Queralt will begin with an introduction about her vision and relationship with water then the youth will discuss the next stage of their work, “toxic waterways.” Following this, a Masonville Cove specialist will present the industrial legacy which transformed the wetlands and waterways around Curtis Bay into “toxic” ones, and the Neighborhood Design Center will lead us in a participatory session imagining/reclaiming our waterways, where we can begin to collectively envision how to reuse our waterways. Participants will share their ideas to wrap up the workshop.
