Ross Creek Gallery proudly presents SHAC on TRACK. A group exhibition by the Soldiers Hill Art Collective.
Exhibition opening will be Saturday October 4th at 1pm - 4pm and run until the 19th. Opening every weekend 11am - 4pm and by appointment.
Artists Statement:
Soldiers Hill Artist Collective established itself ten years ago, and remains prominent in Ballarat forcommunity focused artistic endeavour. From the early days, SHAC has exhibited three to four times per year. SHAC continues to exhibit in collaborative and member only exhibitions. Mostly in Ballarat, but in recent years, “SHAC on TRACK” has become the title of all regional SHAC exhibitions.
Willaura Modern was the location for SHAC on TRACK in 2023. A community run gallery, at the restored Willaura Railway Station; surrounded by canola fields in their golden glory and in lee of Gariwerd (the Grampians). What a setting!
St Arnaud Raillery Gallery hosted SHAC on TRACK in 2024. Once more, a community run gallery at the restored St Arnaud Railway Station; surrounded by silos and mills, the agricultural and industrial heart of St Arnaud.
This year, SHAC on TRACK is a little closer to home. Situated in the wonderful Australian bush just south-west of Ballarat, SHAC is delighted to be exhibiting at the Ross Creek Gallery.
The variety of artistic expression from SHAC members is truly amazing. A mixture of 2D and 3D works, there is no nominated theme for this exhibition. This exhibition showcases the works of some of SHAC’s most recent members, alongside those established members.
