Wim Hof Method Breathwork Class
Come join us at Serasana for an invigorating Wim Hof Method Breathwork Class! The Wim Hof Method is a natural path to an optimal state of body and mind, offering a simple and effective way to cultivate resilience to stress and support your wellbeing. By intentionally and temporarily stressing your body in a controlled environment, it prepares you to handle external stressors more effectively, helping you stay grounded and present under the pressures of every-day life.
The three pillars of the Wim Hof Method—breathwork, cold exposure, and mindset—can be used together to cultivate resilience to stress of all kinds and enhance the quality of your moment-to-moment experience. In this 75-minute class, we'll focus on the breathwork and mindset pillars. We’ll explore supportive stretches, breath awareness techniques, and I’ll guide you through several rounds of the WHM Basic Breathing Exercise to deepen your practice.
Please bring a yoga mat, and anything else you may need to feel comfortable during practice, such as a blanket as your body temperature may fluctuate, an eye mask, a water bottle, etc.
While this breathwork practice is not recommended for anyone who is pregnant or epileptic, you’re welcome to come enjoy everyone’s company, the energy of the room, and rest assured, I’ll provide you with another style of breathwork to practice.
About the instructor: For much of my life, I lived in a constant state of masked fear and anxiety, activated not only by major life events like my dad's passing, divorce, and multiple job layoffs, but also by everyday activities like climbing stairs or completing tasks at work. My chosen response to stress was freeze mode and that included holding my breath, a lot. Over the years, I became more aware of the subconscious stress responses happening in my body, like holding my breath, locking my pelvis for protection, clenching my fists, etc. With its simple structure, the Wim Hof Method became a foundational practice for me to become aware of my breath, and helped me build resiliency to stress, connect to my life force energy, and remind me of my inherent human power.
As a certified Wim Hof Method instructor, I’m excited to help you connect with your inherent wholeness by meeting you where you are and guiding you through this method. You’re worthy of remembering that you hold the power to unlock your fullest self and build resilience and strength to become more present under pressure, and the WHM, along with your dedication, can help to achieve that.
