Austin Pride: Write Letters for Trans Folks

Celebrate Austin Pride by coming together as a community to share words of encouragement to people who truly need it. MVP is partnering with The Queer Trans Project to host a day of community healing, meditation, and writing letters to trans folks. This event is open to anyone who wants to share their love and authenticity with others, regardless of identity.

The Queer Trans Project is “an inclusive organization dedicated to addressing dysphoria experienced by trans and gender non-conforming individuals, irrespective of their demographic background.” They offer Build-a-Queer Kits and flight assistance for gender affirming care at no cost. Your letter will be included in one of their Build-a-Queer Kits.

We will start the day with a meditation and sound bath, followed by a community circle to share anything or nothing at all. Then we’ll crank up the tunes and let the creative juices flow as we craft our letters from the heart. Letter supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring some to share! Not able to make it? Consider making a donation directly and/or writing a letter on your own and bringing it to the studio before September 1st and we’ll mail it out for you.
