Tree Tour: Get to Know the Trees of Chastain Park

Trees Atlanta, in partnership with Chastain Park Conservancy, invites you to join us for a 1-mile educational nature walk in Chastain Park. Participants learn how to ID some of Atlanta’s native trees, and even a few invasive species. The trees of Chastain Park are an important piece of Atlanta’s magnificent tree canopy, provide many benefits for both park users and wildlife, and a shaded, cooling buffer during our hot summer months. This walk is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy and explore Chastain Park, a magnificent 260-acre urban oasis in North Atlanta.

About the Guides: Kent Watkins and Maxine Watkins are residents of Sandy Springs who enjoy hiking, biking, and exploring new parks during their free time. They are experienced tour leaders supporting Trees Atlanta's mission by planting, pruning, and sharing their love of trees with others.

About Chastain Park Conservancy is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship of Troy Chastain Memorial Park’s natural and historic resources. Their mission is to restore , enhance, maintain and preserve the Park’s 268 acres for its over 3.2 million annual visitors. Learn more about their work and additional programs they offer here.
