Join us for an evening with Hannah Lewis, author of Mini-Forest Revolution: Using the Miyawaki Method to Rapidly Rewild the World. We'll learn more about the planting method developed by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki to grow Mini-Forests and why a growing number of communities across the globe are planting mini-forests to restore degraded urban landscapes and increase biodiversity and climate resilience. Trees Atlanta's Landscape Design Manager Brennan Wall will then share more about Trees Atlanta's Mini-Forest project on the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum Southwest Trail
About the Book: In Mini-Forest Revolution: Using the Miyawaki Method to Rapidly Rewild the World , Lewis presents a unique approach to reforestation developed by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki, called the Miyawaki Method. Readers gain an understanding of the science behind a growing number of community-led tiny forest projects; and how the Miyawaki Method is being used to help accelerate reforestation and related environmental benefits including: sequestering carbon, establishing habitat for wildlife and pollinators, building soil health, and cooling urban heat islands. The book will be available for sale.
