Intensive Eurythmy Movement Workshop

This intensive Eurythmy workshop share elements from eurythmy therapy to experience, study, and practice. It concerns an interdisciplinary art of movement with a strong relationship to language, word/logos, rhythm, sound, music and – silence.
In EURYTHMY, the body becomes a conscious organ of perception and a moving multi-layered instrument of expression. The laws and relationships between humans and the world are becoming visible. The study of eurythmy trains the inherent potential of self-awareness and expression. The body becomes an instrument for spiritual and cognitive intentions. With eurythmy you can work in many ways: in education, therapy, curative education, social projects, organizational
development, as well as performance.
EURYTHMY is an art of movement developed by Rudolf Steiner at the beginning of the 20th century. Rudolf Steiner was an important philosopher of the 20th century, who brought completely new aspects to the understanding of man and world. Today, his impulses are being implemented and further
developed in many existential areas of life, such as agriculture, medicine and education. Eurythmy can and is used in all these areas.
Course content:
With EURYTHMIC movements and postures, concrete connections and resonances between macrocosmic and microcosmic laws can be established. We work with archetypes and guidance of complex energies. During the three days we will explore the Healing Power of the Alphabet and its influence on our breathing, immune system and self-healing powers.
The focus is on health issues. Knowledge of eurythmy or anthroposophy is not a condition for taking part in the course. Participants will receive a confirmation of their attendance and a handout/script with study material. The teaching style is focussed, meditative, moving and reflective. Please bring paper and pens for your own notes.
Appropriate for therapists, teachers, dancers, musicians, eurythmists, dance therapists and whoever feels a real need to connect.

by Vera Koppehel / Master of Arts Eurythmy Stage & Therapy
Vera works as a professional lecturer for EURYTHMY and anthroposophy in interdisciplinary contexts. As part of the Rudolf Steiner Archive in Dornach, Switzerland, she organized guided tours, exhibitions, conferences and performances on life and work of Rudolf Steiner. Inspired by Joseph Beuys, she is trialling methods of social sculpture in research groups and is concerned with the challenges of knowledge and health through movement. She studied Eurythmy at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Germany and lives in Switzerland since 20 years.
