Jewel City Jazz Orchestra

Duke Ellington said, “There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind.” The Jewel City Jazz Orchestra brings the good kind. Founded in 2018 as a nonprofit devoted to jazz education and performance in underserved communities, this big band unites music educators and professionals from Huntington and Charleston. The program moves from Count Basie classics to modern charts popularized by Roy Hargrove, with tight ensemble work, standout solos, and an easy welcome for first-time listeners and longtime fans alike.

Join us at Ohio University Southern’s Riffe Rotunda for an afternoon of American big band jazz. Admission is $15 at the door by cash, card, or check. Students and children are admitted free.
