ABOUT BOND WINERY:
The enduring vision at BOND— established in 1996 by H. William Harlan and founding winemaker Bob Levy—is to create a portfolio of wines that are ‘Grand Cru’ in quality, all under the aegis of one philosophy, one team, one mark. Sourced from select hillside estates throughout the Napa Valley, the Cabernet Sauvignon wines of BOND vividly convey the distinctive characters of their respective sites of origin. From the more than 100 vineyards with which the Harlan family and their winegrowing team have worked over the past four decades, they slowly and deliberately chose five properties. These vineyards became a part of BOND—their covenant and shared commitment to produce only the finest expression of the land.
ABOUT ESTATE DIRECTOR AND MASTER SOMMELIER MAX KAST:
Max Kast's wine journey began during his history studies at the University of Montana, blossoming into a distinguished two-decade career. He refined his expertise as Wine Director at two prestigious Relais & Châteaux properties: Triple Creek Ranch in Montana and The Fearrington House in North Carolina. Under his guidance, The Fearrington House achieved Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux status, Forbes Five Stars, and Three Stars from The World of Fine Wines. After transitioning to Broadbent Selections as Director of Education, Max achieved the coveted Master Sommelier title in 2018—a distinction held by fewer than 300 people worldwide. Today, as Director of BOND winery in Napa Valley, he fulfills his dream role representing these exceptional wines globally, while continuing to serve as a respected wine judge and lecturer throughout the United States.
