Dear hikers,
Warhanieh is a city located in the Mount Lebanon Governorate of Lebanon. This region is known for its mountainous terrain and is one of the eight governorates of Lebanon. The area is characterized by its rich history, cultural heritage, and scenic landscapes. It is 55 kms away from Beirut and between 800 and 1400 m above sea level.
Let us discover a new trail together located in Chouf district and within the scope of the shouf cedars reserve. We will hike on a trail that will make us discover the beauty of this reserve, starting from al Warhanieyh at an altitude of 1200 m passing by Brih, Bkhouwara, Fraydis before reaching the border of Ain Zhalta.
We will pass by an oak forest with a panoramic view of shouf and aley. As well as we will see the beauty of Ain Zhalta reserve. We cannot hike in this region, without passing by the village of Warhaniyeh between its old houses and old streets and the remaining of the Phoenician Fort in Warhaniyeh that was used for as a lighthouse for the armies, caravans and passers-by during the Phoenician and Roman era.
This trail includes a section within the beautiful Chouf Biosphere Reserve!

1- @ 7:30 am: jal dib near DHL and Banque Libano Francaise facing the Canadian embassy (we can pick our hikers that live on our way)
2- @ 7:45 am: near Al Amine Mosque downtown Beirut.

Moving time : 4 hrs
Required materials : hiking boots, backpack, hat, 3L of water, raincoat, sunglasses, sunscreen, healthy snacks, hiking stick.
Fees: 20 USD (including transportation, guidance, giveaways, but does not include medical insurance)
Entrance fees to the reserve: 5 USD
Group of 6 will benefit from 1 free hiking invitation
