We head to Pohangina for this walk, which will take you along the route of an abandoned country road connecting Pohangina Village with Ridge Road, through a mixture of forest and farmland. There are nice views over the Ruahine Ranges and the Pohangina Valley. We will head up to Ridge Road before returning the way we came

ELEVATION GAIN: 350m
TERRAIN & TRACK DESCRIPTION: Walking track with dirt surface, narrow in places, stiles to climb over, steady climb although steep in places, may be some areas that could be muddy, slippery , and uneven

WHAT TO BRING (*essential items)
*Day pack
*Sturdy walking shoes or tramping boots with good grip
*Drink Bottle - 1-2 litres
*Rain Jacket
*Warm Clothing - wear or pack (can still get cold in summer)
Sun hat or warm beanie – pack one and wear the other
Sunglasses – wear or pack
*Packed lunch and snacks – pack more than you think you'll need
First Aid Kit (if you have one, otherwise leaders will have some)
Money for Ice Cream and/ or a hot drink afterward (optional)
Spare shoes & a change of clothes to leave in the cars
TRANSPORT
We use our private vehicles for transport. The event organizers select the Vehicles and drivers before the event. If you would like to take your vehicle, please email ASAP so the organizer knows your vehicle is available. We prefer drivers for our events to have attended a few events before driving and to have held a full NZ driver's license for 2 years
