When: Saturday July 19
Time: 9:00 am
Location: Gillies Grove Nature Reserve, 154 Ottawa St Entrance
Distance: approximately 4 km
Duration: 90-120 mins
Cost: Free!
These walks will be led by an amateur naturalist and story-lover that is first aid certified and equipped. It's an all ages event geared towards all levels of experience and fitness levels; families, beginners, adventurers and serenity-seekers are all welcome. If a shorter trek is what you prefer, there will be opportunities to shorten your experience and head back to the parking lot. Please bring ample water for your walk and consider wearing bug deterrents, as well.
Special Guests: This week we will be joined by Dr. Owen Clarkin, the Vice-President and Chair of the Ottawa Field Naturalists’ Club’s Conservation Committee who holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry. He shares his passion for trees through activism and education, and we're grateful for the opportunity to gain his insights into our special forest.
Should there be a weather event that causes us to have to cancel the walk, we will send out an update over email to our mailing list and via our Facebook and Instagram pages by 7:30 am on Saturday.
Hope to see you there! 🌲🌳
