Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE: A World-Class Tribute to Prince

Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE stands as the premier tribute to Prince, delivering a performance that celebrates the artistry and legacy of one of music's greatest icons. Co-founded in 2011 by Marshall Charloff and Matt "Doctor" Fink (keyboardist from Prince & The Revolution), the group has dedicated itself to honoring Prince’s music at the highest level with live, untracked performances by exceptionally skilled musicians. Their visual homage, complete with authentic costuming and likeness, enhances the experience for fans worldwide.

From the very beginning, the band garnered admiration from diehard Prince fans and has since toured extensively for over a decade, performing for more than half a million fans across the U.S. and internationally. In 2019, they achieved the distinction of being officially licensed by the Prince Estate. By 2021, they were selected by the U.S. Department of State to perform at the USA Pavilion during the World Expo in Dubai.

Marshall Charloff, a Minneapolis native, grew up at the heart of the 1980s music scene, gaining early career experience with renowned producers like John Fields and Steven "Funkytown" Greenberg. Discovered and signed by Prince’s mentor, Pepe Willie, at the age of 19, Marshall played guitar alongside Prince’s vocals on 94 East albums.

As a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, Marshall has contributed to Grammy-winning and multi-Platinum projects, writing and producing for The Commodores and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Little Anthony & The Imperials. His original album, Unperfect, was named one of the “Top 100 Albums of 2020” on the global smooth jazz charts.

Marshall has collaborated with an impressive roster of Prince alumni, including Bobby "Z," Matt "Doctor" Fink, and André Cymone, as well as playing with notable acts like the Atlanta Rhythm Section. He has also fronted 25 symphonies across North America, performing Prince’s music to widespread acclaim. Featured in two full-length PBS broadcasts—one with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and another at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater—Marshall continues to dazzle audiences.

In addition to his work with The Purple xPeRIeNCE, Marshall headlined a Las Vegas residency with his one-man show, Purple Piano: The World’s Only One-Man Tribute to Prince, inspired by Prince’s “Piano and a Microphone” tour. This captivating production remains a touring favorite, complemented by his full-band performances.

Known for his astonishingly accurate vocals, masterful guitar and piano skills, and an engaging stage presence that combines finesse with reverence, Marshall Charloff has cemented his place as a preeminent interpreter of Prince's legacy.
