Aviv Noam Quartet
The Aviv Noam Quartet is a fearless ensemble that explores the wild edges of improvisation while paying tribute to the groundbreaking work of Ornette Coleman and Charles Mingus. Drawing from the raw energy and emotional depth of these iconic composers, the quartet reinvents their spirit through a modern, spontaneous lens.
Led by saxophonist Aviv Noam, the group features a powerhouse lineup: Natalio Sued on tenor saxophone, Aviv Maayan on drums, and Omer Govreen on double bass. Together, they create a constantly shifting soundscape that fuses collective improvisation with driving grooves, jagged melodies, and bold harmonic ideas.
Whether delving into fiery renditions of Coleman’s harmolodic language or channeling the soulful urgency of Mingus, the Aviv Noam Quartet thrives on interaction, risk, and emotional immediacy — delivering performances that are both deeply rooted and fiercely alive.
GROVEN/LUMLEY
Sparks, overtones, and harmonic spectra fly when violinist Marielle Groven and double bassist Aaron Lumley get together.
Guillermo Celano trio (aka Humanes)
Humanes is a boundary-pushing jazz ensemble led by Argentine-Dutch guitarist and composer Guillermo Celano. Known for their adventurous spirit and emotional depth, the trio masterfully blends jazz with rock textures, chamber-like subtlety, and avant-garde soundscapes. Each performance is a dynamic journey — shifting from intimate melodic lines to explosive improvisations, held together by Celano’s distinctive harmonic language and sonic imagination.
Backed by an intuitive rhythm section, Bjørk Semey on double bass and Marcos Baggiani on drums. The trio thrives on interplay, risk-taking, and storytelling through sound. Whether on stage or in the studio, Humanes crafts music that is as lyrical as it is unpredictable — a truly modern voice in contemporary jazz.
