Sophie Janna toured the world with folk duo The Lasses before sharing her own songs on the stage. Inspired by the Irish ballads she sang for years, Sophie Janna writes disarmingly vulnerable songs about being a soft human in a world made of concrete. The release of debut EP Wide World (2021) saw her play at Roots of Heaven and Rambling Roots, as well as support shows for Jeffrey Martin, Lisa Hannigan and Florist. Sophie Janna is currently working on her first full length album of original songs.

Join us on Saturday 14 June 8.00pm as we host Sophie in The Godown studio, Amsterdam, for a wonderful evening of song and stories. Doors open 7.30pm. See you there!

Sophie Janna speelde al jarenlang met haar duo The Lasses voordat ze haar eigen liedjes met het publiek begon te delen. Openhartig en warm bezingt ze hoe het is om een zacht mens te zijn in een betonnen wereld. De liedjes van Sophie Janna vielen in de prijzen bij o.a. Mooie Noten (finale 2019) en Indie And A Show (beste songwriter 2023). Geïnspireerd door de Schotse en Ierse folk waarmee ze over de wereld tourde klinken Sophie Janna’s nummers vertrouwd, troostrijk en innemend.
