We would like to draw your attention to a truly special and visually striking story – one that fits perfectly with the upcoming Pride season: the life’s work of photographer René Zuiderveld.
Now in his seventies, René stands alongside names like Erwin Olaf as one of Amsterdam’s most impactful and provocative photographers, with fetish as his central theme. His work is theatrical, intimate, and unmistakably his own. Over the years, he has built a powerful body of work that captures the scene like no other. A quick online search reveals the depth and reach of his legacy.
On Thursday, July 31st, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, we are proud to present his very first photo book: a publication of over 200 pages, fulfilling René’s lifelong dream. The book launch will take place at Eagle Amsterdam (Warmoesstraat 90), a location René has long been deeply connected with, both personally and professionally – as he also is with Dirty Dicks. We hold René in the highest regard for everything he has contributed to our community.
With Pride just around the corner, this is a timely and powerful story that touches on art, identity, freedom and cultural history. We would be honored if you would consider featuring this in a segment or report. You are warmly invited to attend the book launch, and of course, we would be happy to facilitate an interview with René himself.
