About Moussé Dramé
Mousse Dramé was born into the well-known Malian griot family Diabate-Drame in Dakar, Senegal.
At a young age, he was initiated into traditional rhythms from Mali. Soon Moussé was playing as a djembé soloist in several Senegalese ballets and percussion groups, where he also learnt the Senegalese percussion instruments like the sabar, bougarabou, seourouba. With these, he toured Europe where he also gave many lessons and workshops to enthusiasts.
Since December 1998, Moussé has lived in Amsterdam where he gives percussion lessons and workshops, accompanies dance classes and performs throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Lithuania to China. Moussé continued his studies in West African music and is an accomplished ngoni (African stringed instrument), talking drum, balaphone and krin player. Moussé is a true connoisseur of Senegalese, Ivorian and Guinean rhythms as well as a specialist in Malian rhythms.
