How to be autonomous and connected at the same time? - contact improvisation class
In this class we focus on what dance we truly want to dance, or what dance needs to be danced. We try to get rid of anything that is stopping us to do so. While dancing our true dance we practice staying connected to our own solo dance while dancing with a partner. Maybe some of you recognize the tendency to start serving the dance with your partner or serving your partner so much that you forget about yourself? Maybe you even recognize that in your relationships? Maybe you even feel egoistic when too much following your own impulses in a dance? We are going to explore different ways to remind ourselves this self-connection while dancing with a partner. We may even find a connection-button that navigates us between two extremities: The place where we are mostly connected with our own dance and the other extreme where we are mostly connected with our partners dance. Is it possible to be 100 procent connected with both your own dance and the dance of your partner? Are those two extremities concurrents or can they collaborate? And we give ourself the permission to leave the dance with our partner(s) any moment we need to go back to ourselves. Which also makes us practice honest, truthful and guilt-free endings of a dance.
Open for all levels of experience.
After the class, there is some more time to enjoy dancing with others that join the JAM from 16h00-18h00

€ 15,- for class & jam, € 5,- for jam only. Please, bring (exact) cash.
*As every Saturday, for the class and jam you can just drop by to dance - no registration is needed. But for the class it is nice for the others to be well in time, so we can all start on time: Arriving from 13:45. For the jam, you can drop in at any time.
