👚 What to wear: Comfy clothes that can get a little wet. Water shoes, sandals or sneakers that can handle moisture work best. A sun hat or cap is also a good idea!
💬 FAQ
- Will I get wet while canoeing/kayaking?
You’ll stay mostly dry! Some water drops may get into the canoe via the paddle, but it’s very minimal. We recommend quick-drying clothing just in case.
- When is the best time to go canoeing in Amsterdam around the Amstel?
The morning is perfect — the city is peaceful, and you’ll often have the Amstel and canals all to yourself. It’s the most tranquil time to be on the water.
- Are there lockers for my valuables?
Yes! Lockers are available on-site. Bring a 50-cent coin or shopping cart token — you’ll get it back. You can also take your phone or wallet on the boat in a free waterproof barrel.
- Will the activity continue if the weather is bad?
The weather in the Netherlands is unpredictable and weather forecasts change often. For this reason, the landlord looks at the weather forecast 12-24 hours before the start and will contact us if the weather is very bad (strong wind and/or permanent heavy rain) and therefore unsafe or not suitable for going on the water. In this case, GYF will move the booking to a date to be determined. If you can't make it, you will get a refund!
