An afternoon with Erik Kriek: The Pit book presentation & talk

Join us for the presentation of The Pit, the new graphic novel by Dutch illustrator and graphic novel artist Erik Kriek. We will be talking about his new book as well as his influences and how folklore became a part of this work.

About The Pit:

In the aftermath of personal tragedy, Hugh and Sara retreat to an old family home in the woods of the Veluwe in the hopes of getting their lives back on track. But can you run fast enough to escape the past? And what do those strange glyphs carved into the old beech trees really mean?E rik Kriek's latest graphic novel is a contemporary work of magical realism, that is set in the rural countryside of the Netherlands.

About Erik Kriek:

Erik Kriek (1966 - Amsterdam) studied illustration and graphic arts at the Rietveld Academy for Art and Design in Amsterdam. Ever since graduating in 1991 he has been working as a free-lance illustrator and has also achieved international acclaim as a comics author.
Erik Kriek lives and works in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, together with his partner Stans, their son Clovis, their beloved siberian cat whiskey, and an ever expanding collection of toys…
