OVERVIEW
Join Green Steps on Saturday 23.8.2025 afternoon to visit the charming village of Ehden, for an afternoon hike across its Blue Cliff heights till sunset time, overlooking the valley of Qadisha and the surrounding villages. From there, your eyes can catch beautiful colorful sceneries of the sun and the valley while sipping a drink; then savour authentic local food at a charming cuisine. The tour will end at the vibrant Al Miden square to chill out before going back home.
WHAT TO EXPECT
☕ Start your journey with a coffee break in Ehden, soaking in the mountain air before the adventure begins.
🏔️The Blue Cliff hike kicks off behind Mist Hotel, following a natural trail through the mountain toward Saydit El Hosn. Take a moment to visit this serene and beautiful religious site nestled in nature.
🌅 As the sun begins to set, settle into a charming outdoor lounge with sweeping views—sip your drink (à la carte) while the sky transforms into a canvas of color.
🍽️ After the hike, enjoy dinner at a local eatery, where you’ll savor authentic dishes like kibbeh zghertewiyeh and other regional specialties (à la carte).
🌆 To end the evening, the bus will drop you near Al Miden Square. Walk around & treat yourself to a warm sahlab before heading home.
About the Hike:
The hike is of level 5 :
- Circuit length: 6 km
- Altitude: between 1545 m and 1650 m
- Total ascent : 90 m
- Total descent : 105 m
- Effective hiking time: 2 hrs
- The hike will be guided by an ecotourism specialist at a moderate rate.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGION
• Needs for the hike: hiking shoes, hiking stick, windbreaker, hat, backpack, WATER bottles of 2-liter min, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, meal (dry fruits, energy bars, sandwich, drinks), ID card, insurance card, smiley face, and full energy.
• General knowledge contest and quiz related to the area with a prize for the participants.
N.B.:
• A down payment of 50% is required to confirm your booking, to be paid through Whish Money.
• Cancellations after Thursday 21.8.2025 – 5h00 pm, require a payment of 50% of the full contribution.
• A minimum of 15 persons is required for the trip to be feasible.
• The event being ecological, Green Steps encourage all participants to adopt a refill water bottle instead of plastic ones.
• Hikers are advised to participate in the hike to their own responsibility.
• Hikers are asked to follow hiking ethics provided by Green Steps
• Smoking is not allowed during the hike.
• Pets are not allowed in this event,
• In the case of force majeure, some modifications may occur to the program.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGION
The historic village of Ehden is located in the mountains of North Lebanon, some 1450 meters above sea level. It is 120 kilometers from the capital, Beirut.
Beside its many historic churches, monasteries and buildings, Ehden has throughout its history contributed to the religious, political and culture life of Lebanon. It has produced religious leaders, academicians, nationalist leaders, artists and presidents.
To offset the carbon emissions of this event, two cedar trees will be planted on Falougha Mountain.
