Good evening all! Join us next month on the morning of the 14th before our Alton heads to James Killion park to celebrate Juneteenth. Those of us that protest weekly on Sundays will begin at the Lovejoy Monument and get a group pic on the steps with our signs and "Alton Against Trump" banner. We highly encourage attendees to wear red, green, and yellow for Juneteenth. We'll then march down one of Alton's infamous red brick roads- Monument Ave and onto Broadway. It will be our own parade (on the sidewalk) that honors the Emancipation proclamation while demanding the current administration be ousted ASAP. Paying homage to Elijah P Lovejoy, whom was willing to put his own life on the line to stand up against injustice to his fellow humans that were enslaved. Back when he was challenged by haters who threw his printing presses in the river to silence abolitionism. Now they just laugh react on Fbook. Down the hill from My Just Desserts on Broadway where Abe Lincoln used the upstairs offices, we meet at Lincoln Douglas square in 2025. The location of the last debate before he became POTUS. In the city where the mob action murder of Lovejoy- Lincoln claimed was a spark that ignited the first Civil War. Every 80 years we have to fight white supremacy, and it's that time again. #8647
