June Once Upon A Book Club: Serwa Boateng's Guide to Vampire Hunting

May's Once Upon a Book Club discussion will be on Serwa Boateng's Guide to Vampire Hunting by Roseanne Brown, for ages 8-12. Join us on June 11th from 6-7pm.

Parents are welcome to stay on the junior side or browse the adult store. Parents of children 12 yo and under must remain on-site at OTB. Mention the book club at the shop or order online and note "book club" to get 10% off!

About the Book:

For most kids, catching fireflies is a fun summer activity. For twelve-year-old Serwa Boateng, it's a matter of life and death. That's because Serwa is a Slayer and knows that some fireflies are really adze, shapeshifting vampires from the forests of Southeastern Ghana.

When an adze infiltrates her school, it’s up to her to whip some of her classmates into fighting shape before they all become firefly food. And when she uncovers a secret that upends everything she thought she knew about her family, Serwa will have to decide which side of herself--normal girl or Slayer--is the right one.
