Our annual House Ball is here and the category is... The Motown Era!
Join us for a friendly competition event based on traditional BIPOC Queer Ballroom culture — free to enter & cash prizes and trophies are up for grabs 💰🏆
Each category will be judged by a panel of House Ball leaders and community members. This year's categories are:
💋 The Temptations (Face): Beauty is only skin deep, can you bring it out and show the judges?
💃🏽 Diana Ross & Micheal Jackson (Runway): Ease on down the runway and show us how you WALK.
🫨 Papa was a rolling stone (Realness): Bring it as you are and show us if you reign supreme. Sub Categories: Butch Queen, Fem Queen, GNC Queen.
👯♂️ Jackson 5 (Tag Team Performance Vogue): Bring it to the runway and don't forget your team! Five elements must be included.
☕️ Aretha Franklin (Body): Feel you up, feel you down, come serve your body all around town.
🥵 Rick James (Sex Siren): I'm good when I'm bad, I'm bad when I'm good. Show us your sex appeal and make it HOT.
🧚🏾♂️ Teena Marie (Best Dressed): Glitz, glamour, sparkle, fur — dig deep into your closets and show us that you're him, them, or her.
Not walking the runway but unsure of what to wear? Bring your best 50s-80s Motown inspired outfit! Here are some ideas for all gender expressions:
Flared pants, ruffled buttoned ups, and patterned shirts!
Sparkles, patterned, glamorous dresses or long dresses that shape your body!
Feathers and natural hair (afros and natural hair patterns)!
***No glitter or paint — nothing that will leave a residue on the floor is permitted!
