Celebrate the harvest by painting vibrant gourds with gouache—an opaque watercolor that marries the softness of washes and the punch of acrylic. In this no-pressure workshop, artist-in-residence Casey Beal will:
- Introduce the unique properties of gouache and demo color mixing, layering, and brushstrokes
- Lead you through playful warm-up exercises before you dive into your own gourd masterpiece
- Offer extra prompts and creative challenges for those who want more guidance
- Provide samples and references at every step

Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
