The Cameron Shave Jazz Orchestra (CSJO) is a dynamic big band based in Massachusetts. It features some of the finest jazz musicians from New York and New England.
The ensemble, led by composer, arranger, and trumpeter Cameron Shave, delivers high-energy performances that blend swing tradition with modern jazz innovation.
For almost a decade, the CSJO has performed Cameron’s original compositions and arrangements, showcasing his distinctive approach to harmony and orchestration. However, the band's repertoire includes works from jazz legends such as Woody Herman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich, and prominent contemporary band composers.
With a diverse audience that includes young jazz students as well as seasoned listeners, the CSJO continues to push the boundaries of the big band sound, celebrating jazz’s rich legacy while forging a bold, new voice in the genre.
Recently, Cameron Shave created another chapter for his big band in New York City. This band combines New England and New York City professional jazz musicians. It has performed at multiple locations, including off Times Square in Manhattan, NYC.
