Each event invites a local expert to share meaningful ideas in a relaxed setting at Grain Theory—followed by open Q&A, good food, and cold beer. July 17 – Beth Daugherity
Healthcare on the Horizon: From Policy to Personalized Medicine
Beth Daugherity is a PhD candidate, cancer biologist, and legislative healthcare advocate. In her Pub Talk, Beth will introduce and explore key issues shaping the future of healthcare—from modern medical advancements to the real-world limitations of patient advocacy, research funding, and health policy. Her talk will open up a vital conversation about where healthcare is headed and how it affects us all.
Beth Daugherity is finishing up her PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, studying cancer immunotherapies, specifically dendritic cell vaccines. She has a background as a cosmetic/formulary chemist turned technical editor for an IP law publishing company. As both a patient with a rare disease and a scientist, Beth is passionate about educating health professionals and advocating for improved healthcare outcomes for all.
