Výstava Jána Gašparoviča, Scrapscape, predstavuje postapokalyptickú krajinu, v ktorej sa prežitie mení na boj zmyslov. Nie je to vízia budúcnosti, ale výsek reality „potom“ – po kolapse systémov, po ekologickom a psychickom vyčerpaní. Namiesto odpovedí ponúka Scrapscape skúsenosť: krajinu bez útechy, bez nádeje, bez ilúzie návratu. Je to miesto, kde hrdza nahradila rast a plasty nahradili rastliny.
V Scrapscape zmysly zneisťujú a konfrontujú. Zvuky spúšťajú traumy, pachy pripomínajú úpadok, dotyky sú podozrivé. Návštevník nie je len divákom, stáva sa súčasťou choreografie prežívania, v ktorej neexistuje únik. Hmyz ako symbol adaptability ovláda zvuk aj priestor. Prázdne ochranné obleky pripomínajú ľudskú neprítomnosť aj vinu.
Scrapscape je mnohozmyslová výpoveď o svete po “tom”. Camera obscura nášho vedomia zaznamenáva trosky a skúma vlastné hranice. Čo zostáva, keď jazyk, príroda aj technológie zlyhajú? Výstava neponúka riešenia, iba možnú verziu, ako sa končí svet: nie treskom, ale vytrvalým bzučaním.

The exhibition Scrapscape by Ján Gašparovič presents a post-apocalyptic landscape in which survival becomes a battle of the senses. It is not a vision of the future, but a fragment of reality “after” – after the collapse of systems, after ecological and psychological exhaustion. Rather than offering answers, Scrapscape is an experience: a land without comfort, without hope, without the illusion of return. It is a place where rust has replaced growth, and plastic has replaced plants.
In Scrapscape, the senses unsettle and confront. Sounds trigger traumas, smells evoke decay, and touch feels suspicious. The visitor is not merely a spectator but becomes part of a choreography of survival in which there is no escape. Insects, as symbols of adaptability, dominate both sound and space. Empty protective suits recall both human absence and guilt.
Scrapscape is a multisensory testimony to a world “after.” The camera obscura of our consciousness records the debris and explores its own boundaries. What remains when language, nature, and technology fail? The exhibition offers no solutions, only a possible version of how the world ends: not with a bang, but with a persistent buzzing.
