This summer, history comes alive at Eden Camp as we transport families back to Britain during WWII to explore the incredible spirit of the Home Front.
From ingenious inventions to Victory Gardens, you’ll experience how ordinary people coped with extraordinary times through hands-on activities, storytelling, crafts, and living history.
Whether you’re a curious child or a nostalgic adult, there’s something for everyone in this engaging, interactive holiday programme. Each two-week period focuses on a new theme, so every visit offers something different!

Can you uncover the secret word and claim your reward?
Step into the shoes of wartime Britain’s unsung heroes and explore Eden Camp to find six incredible characters who helped keep the country going during WWII!

--- 🌱 Dig For Victory ---
19 July – 3 August
During this green-fingered fortnight, families will discover how people across Britain turned lawns, parks, and even rooftops into vital food sources during WWII. Through hands-on activities and garden-themed fun, you’ll learn the importance of self-sufficiency—and have the chance to grow something of your own.
🌼 Activity Workshop: The Potting Shed!
23, 24, 25,26, 27, 30, 31 July, & 1,2,3 August 1pm to 2pm
Decorate your own plant pot using our craft materials and create you own design, then plant your own cress seeds in your pot to take home. Watch your mini victory garden grow on your windowsill and keep the Home Front spirit alive long after your visit!
--- 🍞 Rations Reimagined – Life on Limited Supplies! 🥕 ----
4 August – 17 August
Step into the world of wartime Britain and discover what it really meant to live on rations! You will uncover the surprising, clever, and sometimes downright strange ways people coped with shortages during World War II.

🥕 Activity Workshop: Carrots on a Stick 🥕

Looking for a fun, hands-on activity that’s a little bit healthy, a little bit sweet, and a whole lot of fun? Join us for our Carrots on a Stick workshop – where kids get to create their own colourful, crunchy carrot snacks using syrup, sprinkles, and imagination!

18 August – 31 August
Discover how wartime Britain embraced creativity and resilience. Learn how to sew, repair, and repurpose everyday items in our drop-in craft stations and DIY workshops.
🧷 Activity Workshop: Sew Your Own Name!
20,21, 22,23, 24, 28 & 29 August 1pm to 2 pm
Kids (and grown-ups!) can try their hand at basic hand-stitching by creating a personalised name tag using needle, thread, and fabric scraps—just like wartime families would have done. Then take your creation home as a one-of-a-kind keepsake of your time on the Home Front!
