Afternoon Walk - Poppleton: Pond, Park and Poppleton Social (Motown Party)

Distance: 3 miles
Terrain: Footpaths and snickets.
This is an easy Sunday afternoon walk round the picturesque village of Poppleton.
We will be walking round the green, down the snickets and spending time exploring the bottom of Church Lane, which includes a pond, horses, a park, a historic church and the tithe barn.
We will finish at Poppleton Social where there will be a DJ from 1pm playing a Motown set. There will be food and drinks available.
Parking: There is ample parking without restrictions in the village. There is also a large car park at Poppleton Social.
Bus: The number 10 goes from York centre directly to Poppleton (get off at Lord Nelson Pub). It takes roughly 30 minutes from Piccadilly. There are ample return buses all afternoon.
Train: Poppleton has a train station and it takes about 10 minutes but there is a 20 minute walk to the start point.
The start point will be sent to you when you register.
This is dog friendly.
Please note that these are fair weather walks. If the weather is bad on the morning with poor forecasts, the walk will be postponed/rearranged.
These events are free to attend, however we do ask for a donation to for the running of the group. We need to pay for email addresses, websites and hosting etc. The minimum donation it just £1 and it really does help in what we are doing here.
