CALL FOR ART
ON REPEAT: Artworks featuring repeating patterns or arrangements of like objects for the September exhibit at HIVE artspace in York, PA.
Submission Period: August 1 through August 15 (by midnight).
Exhibit dates: September 5-27, 2025.
All mediums are welcome for submission.
For the September exhibit at HIVE artspace we are seeking artworks that explore repetition — whether through patterns, objects, or similar subjects. For inspiration, consider the work of artists such as M.C. Escher, Yayoi Kusama, Andy Warhol, Sandy Skoglund, Wayne Thiebaud, and Adam Hillman. Think about objects that people collect, repeating forms found in nature, or the patterned details of manmade items. To clarify, we’re not necessarily looking for the collections themselves, but rather artistic interpretations or representations of them. Artworks composed of repeated or like items are also welcome.
There is no fee to submit artwork for consideration. Submitting artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit. All mediums are welcome for submission.
SUBMISSION NOTES:
• Up to 3 submissions allowed. See important note below regarding submission images.
• There is no fee to submit, but there is a $5 exhibit fee for accepted artists ($5 total regardless of number of artworks accepted.)
• Gallery Commission is 35% on artworks sold.
• Final artwork must be ready-to-hang/display, we use single nail hanging on most works (sawtooth hangers ok).

• Up to 3 submissions in low-resolution jpeg format. Images must clearly represent the work, as these images will be used in the accompanying on-line gallery. Watch for glare / background clutter, photographing them against a white or solid colored wall is best for our use. Indirect natural light will give you the truest colors and nicest lighting for your images. Please get them as "square" in the frame as possible.
• Title, medium, size*, price (in that order) for each artwork submitted. *Please include actual artwork size AND framed size as applicable.
• Your name + city & state as it should appear on exhibit materials.
• Any time constraints you may have, i.e. shipping, printing, or framing time needed.
• Link to more of your artwork on-line (optional, but highly recommended).
IMPORTANT DATES:
• Submission Period: August 1-15 by midnight.
• Drop-off for accepted artwork: August 30-31.
• Exhibit Opening: First Friday September 5, from 5-9.
• Exhibit Dates: September 5-27, 2025.
• End of show artwork pick-up: September 28.
