Join guest speakers from Melbourne Water and the Narrap Rangers for a guided walk at Spadonis Reserve in Yering to learn about the vital role billabongs play in the landscape, ecology and Wurundjeri culture.
Spadonis Reserve is an ecologically and culturally significant site along the Birrarung, featuring a 1.7km accessible gravel walking trail. Once important hunting and fishing grounds for the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, this site is rich in cultural history.
The reserve is also part of Council’s Yering Billabongs Project, which is restoring 60 hectares of floodplain to improve water quality, manage stormwater and support local biodiversity.

The reserve features flat gravel paths. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing.
Please note, there are no toilets on-site – nearest facilities are on Main Street, Lilydale or at the Coldstream Pump Track.
